The Brief:
We were approached by the team delivering the Miami Open to deliver a fun and interactive skills zone to elevate fans experience at the Hard Rock Stadium and the event. With the WTA event being held at such a renowned location, it was important to ensure we proposed an exciting and accessible fan zone to be enjoyed by all!
The Process:
We had the luxury of having free reign over the design of the skills zone with the space we were given! Where possible we wanted to incorporate as many skills of tennis as possible across the activations, to provide fans with something different with each touch point. The design & production team looked at our most popular and seamless looking tennis activations when deciding which were best suited for the event and attendees.
The Result:
Miami Open Skills Zone: An engaging Skills Zone with 5 tennis activations that allowed fans of all ages & abilities to get involved underneath the Miami sunshine!
Knock’ Em Down: Fans had to knock as many balls off the plinths as possible within 60 seconds, a true test of accuracy in tennis!
Green Screen Photo Opp: A great way for fans to remember their day out at the Hard Rock Stadium, fans could get a snap with the stadium in the background which was then emailed to them.
Speed of Serve: One of our more popular tennis activations, fans had 3 attempts to hit their fastest serve!
Ball Kid Challenge: Replicating the role of ball boys & girls, fans had to roll the ball into the ball kids’ hands.
Mini Tennis Courts: A smaller version of a traditional tennis court, fans could rally with friends or family to have a hit!
The team were excited to be part of the Miami Open for the first time this year, as our activation work within the tennis world continues to extend in the USA. It was great to see so many fans from different ages, abilities and backgrounds get involved with all the activations and was appealing to everyone. There was a fantastic event buzz within the Skills Zone each day, which both represented and contributed to the wider fan experience at the Hard Rock Stadium and Miami feel!
