Event: 3M Open 2026

Activation: 3M Hospitality & The Driver Fan Experience

Location: TPC Twin Cities, Blaine, Minnesota, USA

The Brief For the seventh consecutive year, Provision Events partnered with 3M at the 2026 3M Open, delivering an evolving programme of hospitality and fan experiences.

Building on the success of previous activations including The Lab and The Swing Lab, the 2026 brief was to create the most ambitious experience yet, combining premium hospitality with an immersive fan destination.

Provision Events was tasked with designing, manufacturing and delivering 12,823 sq ft of premium hospitality fit-out alongside The Driver, a 4,305 sq ft interactive fan experience, creating more than 17,128 sq ft of branded environments across the tournament. Every space needed to bring 3M's "3M &" campaign to life, showcasing how partnerships with industry leaders including PING, AWS, Lenovo, Microsoft, Cadillac and JetZero drive innovation across sport, mobility, technologyand aviation.

The objective was to create engaging, hands-on experiences that strengthened customer relationships while demonstrating how 3M science shapes industries around the world.

The Process

Working closely with 3M and tournament stakeholders, Provision Events managed the complete design, manufacture, installation and live delivery of the activation, transforming the heart of the tournament into an immersive hospitality and fan engagement destination.

The centrepiece was the hospitality environment, featuring bespoke interior fit-outs, premium lounges, meeting spaces and collaborative partner experiences for eight client brands. Rather than simply showcasing products, each activation demonstrated how 3M's technologies support real-world innovation across multiple industries, allowing guests to experience the partnerships first-hand.

Complementing the hospitality experience was The Driver developed alongside PING. Designed to explore the connection between golf performance and automotive engineering, the experience featured golf simulators, putting challenges, interactive exhibits, immersive storytelling and racing simulators, creating an engaging environment where fans could experience the science behind performance on both the fairway and the freeway.

Our design team also developed bespoke LED content for The Driver, featuring Cadillac, PING and other key elements of the experience. Designed specifically for the entrance screens, the content was created to deliver strong visual impact as guests entered the space, with the Cadillac F1 car as the centrepiece, creating an immediate sense of energy and excitement.

The wider delivery spanned 42,667 sq ft of printed walling across the tournament, including the Driver, hospitality, totems, wayfinding and smaller client activations, alongside bespoke VIP entrance structures and nearly 2,000 feet of sustainable walling. Provision Events also delivered additional hospitality fit-outs for the City of Blaine and R.S. Hughes.

Over a 30-day build programme, the team also designed and manufactured 13 unique 3D-printed features using our 3D printing service, including finely detailed club mounts that displayed individual club components with a floating effect. These bespoke elements added another layer of detail to the hospitality environment, reinforcing Provision Events' expertise in creative production and bespoke fabrication.

The Results Provision Events successfully delivered more than 17,128 sq ft of hospitality and fan engagement experiences, alongside bespoke entrance features and supporting event infrastructure, creating the largest and most ambitious 3M Open activation the team has delivered to date.

Throughout tournament week, the hospitality environment became a destination for customers, partners and invited guests to connect, collaborate and experience the 3M brand. Across the programme, more than 3,000 guests were hosted, while The Driver attracted fans through interactive challenges, golf and racing simulators and immersive technology. Guests were also welcomed by a Cadillac Formula 1 car, while the new Club Red lounge served more than 1,200 Smoked Old Fashioneds throughout the tournament.

The activation formed part of a record-breaking year for the 3M Open, which saw tournament records surpassed across attendance, ticket sales, concession revenue, customer hosting and television viewership. By bringing the 3M & campaign to life across eight partner experiences, Provision Events helped turn partnership into experience, showcasing how 3M science supports innovation across multiple industries through engaging, memorable activations.

The successful delivery also marked another milestone in Provision Events' long-standing relationship with the tournament. As the 3M Open's partner for the seventh consecutive year, the project demonstrates how the partnership continues to evolve in scale, creativity and ambition, with each edition building on the success of the last to deliver world-class experiences on an international stage.

“Working with Provision to design, develop, implement, and run our hospitality and DRIVER experiences at the 3M Open was an absolute game-changer.

We could not have asked for a better partner to help us elevate our presence at the tournament.”
