Client: Genesis Scottish Open
Event: Genesis Scottish Open 2026
Activation: Fan Experience Village
Location: The Renaissance Club, North Berwick, Scotland
The Brief Following a competitive tender process, Provision Events was selected to design, build and deliver the Genesis Scottish Open Fan Experience Village from 2026 to 2028.
The appointment built upon Provision Events' long-standing relationship with both the Genesis Scottish Open and the DP World Tour, having previously delivered fan engagement activations, hospitality experiences and event infrastructure at the tournament, as well as supporting DP World Tour events across the UK, Ireland and the Middle East.
As one of the DP World Tour's flagship events and a key tournament in the lead-up to The Open Championship, the Fan Experience Village needed to create a premium destination for spectators while seamlessly integrating tournament partners, enhancing fan engagement and reflecting the prestige of one of golf's most celebrated championships.
The Process Working alongside the Genesis Scottish Open, DP World Tour, SBK, Scottish Golf and The Renaissance Club Foundation, Provision Events delivered a fully integrated Fan Experience Village using a combination of premium AirClad structures, bespoke truss builds and custom fabrication.
Entrance Experience
We delivered a striking entrance structure, featuring a two-way lenticular wall and full-length integrated video wall to create a dynamic welcome for fans entering the tournament.
'This is Golf Country' Landmark Photo Opportunity
We created a striking landmark feature celebrating the tournament’s “This Is Golf Country” tagline and Scotland’s status as the Home of Golf. Inspired by the stone walls of the course, it provided a distinctive centrepiece and memorable photo backdrop for fans.
SBK Impossible Putt
Working with SBK, we created a two-part fan experience featuring a fully equipped onsite podcast studio (featuring none other than former Celtic captain Scott Brown), alongside our “Impossible Putt” challenge giving fans the chance to win exclusive prizes, including a trip to the Irish Open.
Scottish Golf: Lighthouse Landing We worked with Scottish Golf to create a bespoke “Lighthouse Landing” chipping challenge, inspired by the iconic Fidra Island. Complete with floating greens and a striking coastal backdrop, the activation proved a popular fan experience throughout the tournament.
18th Long Putt Challenge
We created a fully customised 30m-long putting challenge replicating the iconic 18th hole at The Renaissance Club. From stone walls and Rory’s famous plaque to grandstands and the big screen, every detail was recreated to deliver a truly immersive, one-of-a-kind fan experience.
Summer of Sport
We created a custom football simulator to bring a different sporting challenge to the Scottish Open, giving fans the chance to test their touch away from the golf course. In partnership with The Renaissance Club Charitable Foundation, the activation also helped raise funds for local charities.
Golf Curling Challenge
Inspired by Scotland’s love of curling, we put a golfing twist on the sport to create a unique, family-friendly fan challenge. Combining skill, competition and plenty of fun, the activation kept fans engaged throughout the day.
The Arcade
Where golf meets technology, The Arcade brought a range of interactive innovations together in one space - from VR simulators and AR swing experiences to tech-driven putting challenges, offering something for every fan to enjoy.
Little Links
Little Links was our dedicated children’s zone, designed to engage young fans whether they loved golf or not. From colouring walls and treasure hunts to designing their own putting courses and meeting animals at the Zoo Lab, there was something to spark every child’s imagination.
The Academy
The Academy, led by the Stephen Gallacher Foundation, gave fans the opportunity to sharpen their skills with 30-minute golf lessons delivered by local professionals throughout the tournament.
From concept development and fabrication through to project management, installation and on-site delivery, Provision Events managed every aspect of the Fan Experience Village.
The Result With more than 80,000 spectators attending the Genesis Scottish Open across tournament week, the Fan Experience Village is a central destination for fans of all ages. From sponsor activations and golf challenges to coaching sessions and family entertainment, the village remained busy throughout the championship, creating continuous opportunities for engagement across every experience.
The successful delivery of the project received excellent feedback from the tournament team and reinforced Provision Events' reputation for delivering world-class fan experiences at major sporting events.
The project also received recognition across the events and golf industries, featuring in multiple leading publications (such as Golf Business News, Golf Today, and FMBE) and highlighting Provision Events' expertise in sports event production, experiential marketing and fan engagement.
Building on a long-standing relationship with both the Genesis Scottish Open and the DP World Tour, the project demonstrates Provision Events' ability to design, build and deliver large-scale fan experiences that connect tournaments, sponsors and spectators on the international stage.
