The Brief:
Atlantis, The Palm has enjoyed a successful partnership with the DP World Tour Championship since 2009 and wanted to use the tournament as a platform to showcase all aspects of their resorts, whilst promoting their new Atlantis resort being built in Dubai and the conservation work they do through their Atlas Project.
The Process:
The fan village at the DP World Tour Championship is the central hub for fans attending the event, and it was vital that we created the ultimate immersive experiences for fans, not just through our activations but also visually. We were tasked to conceive, design and build the entire fan village; a perfect opportunity for us to showcase some of our new service offerings such as our structures and virtual design studio capabilities, to create endless memories for fans with the Atlantis brand at the forefront.
The Result:
Atlantis Fan Village: We pulled together all our resources and expertise’s to deliver the full activation package that included multiple zones that focused on various areas of the Atlantis resorts.
Atlantis Educational Zone: In correspondence with their Atlas Project committed to wildlife conservation, the zone focused on educating younger fans on various sea creatures and their habitats through engagement with our fun interactive quizzes and QR information spots, accompanied by a creative space with colouring and drawing for all ages.
Atlantis Royal Zone: Fans could scan the map to bring up our impressive interactive map featuring players live location on the course and a link to the leaderboard, providing a new and exciting way to soak in the tournament atmosphere! We also designed an AR experience where fans could see the model of the new Dubai Atlantis hotel.
Aqauaventure: A bespoke three-hole mini golf course honouring the key features of Atlantis waterparks at their resorts, including a variety of slides and obstacles to surpass!
Wave House: We had a range of activations on offer as an insight into the entertainment on offer within Atlantis resorts, including a basketball shoot out, air hockey, arcade, and pool table and of course, our NEW bowling activation that went down a storm with fans!
Charging Points: Fans could charge their phones while using the opportunity to get some well-earned shade and rest!
Marking our first event in the UAE since the arrival of Covid at the beginning of 2020, everyone at Provision worked tirelessly in the weeks leading up to the event to ensure the entire event delivery process was as seamless as possible. The Wave House and Aqauaventure zones tended to attract the biggest crowds, where our bespoke activations appealed to all fans and certainly introduced them to some unique and memorable experiences!
Our development into a full-service sport activation agency has accelerated over the last 18 months, where we utilised the international stage set by the DP World Tour Championship to promote our newfound services, such as our structures and in-house design studio with our impressive interactive map and specialised AR experience. We have now widened our scope in delivering large scale events in the UAE, and we are excited to continue this into the new year!
